Iteration Time
Systems engineering by spiral: the smallest machine that answers the scariest question, then a slightly bigger one.
Iteration Time keeps the master concept of an electromechanical machine and runs it through rings of
increasing fidelity. Each ring is one turn: the engine writes work orders for the discipline tools,
RADCAD (mechanical), pcbyay (electrical),
Squirmware (firmware) and the Library of Everything (bought parts),
checks the seams between what they deliver, and hands the operator one review packet and one decision.
How a project runs
- You write a brief. The engine authors a concept: subsystems, interfaces, success criteria, risks.
- It plans a spiral. Ring 0 is a weekend: at most two designed parts, everything else bought or mocked, tried for real.
- Each turn dispatches orders, integrates the results and reports. You accept, revise, go back a ring, or stop.
- The last ring is the whole machine at its target fidelity.
Today
- The engine, its verifiers and the HTTP API are live: API docs, health.
- Concept and spiral authoring run on the live model. The discipline tools answer from fixtures until their adapters are proven live.
- The browser workspace for operators is the next build.
